Step By Step Guide to Facebook:Second Step

Happy New Year all my readers!

facebook.jpgI am sorry for not coming to you on the last two days, but due to a mistake I made in my name server settings the site was not accessible for past two days. I have rectified that matter and hopefully it will never happen again.

So to continue from where I left in facebook. I have been pretty successfully adding friends. To make things easy for me I have limited the amount of friend invitations I send per day. As I said in the last post it can be quite addictive and I spend several hours searching for long lost friend. The good thing was I was able to find some very old friends including one guy who I new in grade 1. How fantastic is that!

The one real negative issue seems to be the countless useless applications floating around; I have been consistently bombarded with request for joining different application everyday. The most hot app among my friends seems to be this vampire, zombie, slayer game were you fight (or eat) your opponents (friends) and earn points. I had been asked to be all those types and did comply to see how it goes. The fights I had was total disaster as I got vampire smack all over me and lost. For now I can’t make much sense of what to do and why there is so many types and how they interact (if they do at all), but I intend to find out and try to beat some of the old hands. But more likely I will remove that app after some time because

a) I really hate all those zombie, vampire stuff (revalsive)

b) Its totally useless.

Another game like app that I was invited to and I found quite entertaining (because I won) was street race. It gave you initial money in order to purchase your car of choice which turned out to be pretty old cars (I got dodge panel) and then had to race others. If you beat them you earn money or loss money by getting beaten. The money can be used to purchase better cars or add additional enhancements. The gas tank gets depleted after some time and only gets refilled from time to time. The good thing is you can practice and gain skills (they call it skillze) which helped me to beat the some newbies. Any way it was fun to play and gives you chance to win by selecting correct course and opponents. Still the overall value of such an application is arguable.

There are some more apps like super wall, fun wall, popularity, characteristic, bumper sticker, all which I did not try, my aim is to find some method to check all these applications without overly wasting my time( as I always say “can’t judge anything is good or bad until you do it”).

I will continue to check cool applications in Facebook, and let you all know how I am progressing. For these few days I can see some potential power users of this social network, and have to see if those ideas work out.

So go and try more apps and let me know.
