Hey, folks and I guess you know I am going to talk about something that has taken the web by storm last year. it is Twitter; a service that allows people to post very short post(140 words) on anything. It caught on like a fire and has been used by many to send out varied things from what they are doing now, hottest news updates to questions that need some help. it as most other web 2.0 services is based on the community value. The community comprises of you , the people who you follow: These are the peoples post […] Continue Reading…

This post is for all of you who intend in doing some experimenting. As you probably know Mozilla released Firefox 3.0 beta2. I have been anxious to find out how it performs and what are the new features that had been added. I had no intention to upgrade to Firefox 3 beta 2. I just needed to test it while keeping Firefox 2 for other activities. The problem was that when you install a new version of Firefox it upgrades everything including the desktop shortcuts to open that version. I has heard that using two profiles solved the problem, […] Continue Reading…

I was just thinking about starting a new experiment to see how much things can be done on the web that we traditionally consider as desktop applications. Also an earlier article on lifehacker about free web hosting and the growth of web 2.0 that allowed numerous user generated content got me interested on how well I can build authority site for minimum cost(or even better totally free). I will let you all on those two aspects as I continue to do my research on it. But this phenomena on all great free things in the web was a topic […] Continue Reading…

All right today is an action day. I want to briefly talk about different feed readers and then give you one on one on how to sign up to my favorite feed reader.
So as you already know feed readers are the software or programme that’s capable of reading the feed. The exact detail of how this is done is irrelevant to the end user. There are many feed readers available for use. They fall in to two categories
Offline feed readers
Online feed readers
The best know Offline feed […] Continue Reading…

It’s very important as a user not to get confused and more importantly scared of RSS. This can happen if you have been introduced to all the different versions flying around. But take heart, there’s no need to panic and I’ll let you in on this right now because as far as end users are concerned it really doesn’t matter what format the web site use and most of the time you won’t even know, which is pretty good. So now that I have put your minds at rest let me outline all these differences and what they mean.

Web Feed January 15th 2008 by darshana in Definitions
RSS has become a very widely used buzz word in web 2.0 era. But what most of us don’t realize is that beneath this seemingly simple term lies a whole set of concepts and technologies. These days RSS means a lot more than what it initially meant. To truly understand the entire landscape of RSS we need to start with the idea of a web feed.
What is a Web Feed?
Most of the new web 2.0 web sites (led by blogs) update there content regularly (generally daily but some within few minutes). It is important that this updated […] Continue Reading…

Today I just want to give an overview of what I think is going to be the direction of the web. Last year was probably a very important milestone in the growth of the web. I think it was the year that social media really came into there own. This new medium of social interaction has fascinated me from the moment I was introduced to it. One of the best descriptions of the different categories that had sprung up under the social media umbrella was the social media starfish model proposed by Robert Scoble. This has been represented as […] Continue Reading…

I have heard about this for some time from various sources but did not pay much attention to it until I read this article on ReadWriteWeb on how to rebirth the activity of tagging. This sort of pulled me in to study little more depth what tagging is. The main points that surprised me in this article was that
1. Interest in tagging has waned, which was contrary to my belief that tagging has really taken of.
2. New emerging trends in using tagging.
So what is tagging, I would define is as the association of a word or words that […] Continue Reading…

Happy New Year all my readers!
I am sorry for not coming to you on the last two days, but due to a mistake I made in my name server settings the site was not accessible for past two days. I have rectified that matter and hopefully it will never happen again.
So to continue from where I left in facebook. I have been pretty successfully adding friends. To make things easy for me I have limited the amount of friend invitations I send per day. As I said in the last post it can be quite addictive and I […] Continue Reading…
